I have received many emails and FB messages in the past few days. It was certainly devastating that we could not get support from the Bear Cub Funds of the Washington University, but we should move on. One of the major reasons we did not get support this time was that Wolfram is an ultra rare disease. I don’t agree with this. It is the right thing to find a novel treatment for Wolfram syndrome. Although Wolfram is a rare disease, there are patients suffering from this condition. Because Wolfram is a prototype of ER stress disease, if we find a novel treatment for Wolfram syndrome, we can save patients suffering from other diseases related to ER stress such as Type 1 diabetes. Please don’t worry, everyone. I will find a way. I had a meeting with Stephanie Snow Gebel and Dr. Naseer of the Snow Foundation today. We found a solution. We will not give up.
I am thinking of you. Thank you again for your encouragement. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Take care,
