My major focus right now is to stop the progression of Wolfram syndrome using a drug. In parallel, my team is developing gene-based diagnostics for Wolfram syndrome and other syndromic diabetes (i.e., diabetes with other manifestations, such as neurodegeneration). This is important for achieving the early diagnosis of our patients. Once the new therapies are available, we can potentially start treating these patients at the early stage of the disease or even prevent the disease by prophylactic treatment. The diagnostic method should be simple. My hope is that we will do this using a single drop of blood.
Thank you for reading this blog. I am hopeful and grateful. Thank you for your encouragement, suggestions, and continued support. I appreciate your emails and phone calls.
